Ararat basketball and soccer players will be offered some relief during summer, after an air conditioning system was installed at the Ararat Fitness Centre this week.
The Ararat Basketball Association initiated the project and contributed $17,694, along with Ararat Community Enterprises’ $20,000 donation.
Dr Harrison said Council was pleased to work with the Association to deliver the project, which was completed over three days, and commended them for their work on the project, which will improve playing conditions during summer.
“Having air conditioning will mean players and spectators will be much more comfortable during summer, and hopefully we won’t have to cancel games anymore,” Mrs Dunmore told the Ararat Rural City Council.
