The Crew 2 is a racing game brought to you by Ubisoft, who are best known for their Assassin’s Creed series.
The Crew 2 holds a map that covers a shrunken down version of the U.S., with many locations such as New York and Los Angeles. When you start the game you will meet ‘Hiro’ who is there to cheer you on and support you through all the challenging activities the country has to offer, like racing and plane stunts. Each event will reward you with parts to equip your vehicles, to increase their performance.
Throughout the game you will be competing in street, off-road, air and sea races to increase your level and earn enough money to buy new vehicles which all have a range of different customization options. You can even check out the different liveries made by the community. You can also visit your home – which is where you can have your most loved vehicles for show and quick access for when you first load the game and spawn here.
There are different types of street races, including drag, drift, hyper and normal street races. Off-road holds a list of Motocross, Rallycross, Rallyraid and Hovercraft. You can either play against the AI or jump online to rise up the leader boards and compete with friends.
The best part of the game is that you can swap between your favourite car, plane or boat instantly, which can lead to some cool stunts or unique style races with your crew. Each section of the game has a different mentor who will guide you through your journey to the top. You don’t need to race the whole time though, you can start up a crew with your friends and explore the huge map, take a road trip from New York to Miami or even race a boat against a car.
The style of driving in this game may not feel very familiarto a lot of people. This is because the developers decided to give the game anarcade feel to it. The driving in this game is not realistic because the gameis made for people to have fun and is not meant to be a simulation.
Many people don’t like how you randomly receive rewardsinstead of choosing what you receive but I think this makes the game feel morerewarding when you finally get what you need. The game is definitely fun and Iwould highly recommend it for any racing fan.
