The 25th Jailhouse Rock Festival was held in Ararat over the weekend which saw many come out to rock ‘n’ roll and show off their classic cars.
AC News caught up with Festival President Greg Dalmayer, who explained why the festival has moved back into Barkley Street – now that the Town Hall has been reopened.
“A lot of the locals were missing it from the street. The main reason it was moved away from the street was because the Town Hall was closed for refurbishment for two years. The town hall was always been the focus of the festival,” Dalmayer explained.
The festival has usually held it’s Sunday event at Alexandra Oval but he explained that the costs have become a problem.
“As much as we love to do what we do we have to be aware of how much it costs.”
