Melissa Bibby has made the difficult decision to leave the Ararat Storm Youth Girls Football Club after putting her hand up as coach earlier in the year.
“I agonized over the decision, but we only have 13 players and 3-5 at training; so it just became untenable,” Bibby said.
“It doesn’t look like there will be a team at all, which is sad.”
Melissa is currently teaching at Ararat College and is an experienced footballer and coach.
She has played with various teams including the Darebin Falcons, coached the Falcons Youth girls as well as being involved with the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup competition.
A general meeting is being held tonight at the Gordon Street Oval with all families welcomed to attend.
“If there is a sudden influx of numbers I’ll definitely consider going back to coach,” Bibby said.
“The club has been great and hopefully one last push will get them over the line.”
Storm’s President has been contacted for comment.
