Victorians are being encouraged to get active this April and participate in the Premier’s Active April campaign.
The Ararat Rural City Council is encouraging locals to fit 30 minutes of physical activity into their day throughout this month.
To motivate participation in the campaign, a range of low-cost and no-cost activities are being held in Ararat which will focus on both physical and mental health.
Tai Chi, mat pilates, meditation, laps of the lake, and circuit classes are all on offer during the month of April.
Activities are either free or $5 per session, subsidised in April only.
“It’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to getting more people active and healthy,” Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Harrison said.
“Start small and remember that every little bit counts. It’s an easy way to kick start a healthier you.”
Locals wanting to officially register for the Premier’s campaign can do so HERE.
An app and website are available to registered participants that will allow them to chart their progress through the month.
