Works on the Western Highway pushed back again

Major Road Projects Victoria have pushed back the commencement of works on the Western Highway project between Buangor and Ararat once again.

Work was due to resume on March 19 after protesters delayed the project for almost twelve months but they did not allow machinery onto the site.

Since March 19 the commencement date has continued to be altered, with the latest arrangement stating work would begin this week.

Yesterday the Djab Wurrung Heritage Protection Embassy shared that Major Road Projects Victoria has now agreed not to start works until June 12.

This decision is reportedly due to Federal Court proceedings that are still currently taking place.

More to come.
