Ararat College staged ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer – The Musical’ last week after months of rehearsals. Students took to the stage under the Direction of Teacher Janine Poole, who also wrote the script.
“It was awesome, Friday night especially. All the actors lifted for the performances and it was spot on – I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” Ms Poole said.
“The school play is vital. Kids need to be exposed to this sort of career and extra-curricular. It’s amazing to see the quiet kids tap into their acting skills and come alive on stage.”
She also explained how the backstage crew learned how to deal with a pressure-filled situation and stay cool, completing scene changes to keep the show running smoothly.
Many students will now wait patiently until next year’s show is announced in early 2020.
