Ararat’s University of the Third Age held a fashion parade at the Ararat Town Hall yesterday during the Victorian Seniors Festival.
Students from Marian College modelled clothing and accessories from many decades of fashion to those who attended, followed by an afternoon tea in the supper-room.
Cr Jo Armstrong launched the inaugural event, stating how wonderful it was to have the younger generation involved.
“A huge congratulations to the super organising committee who have volunteered countless hours to bring together this unique collection and make this event happen,” Cr Armstrong said.
“Ararat Rural City Council is thrilled to support the fashion parade through our learning of several pieces from the Lady Grimwade Collection. Which is a part of the Ararat Gallery TMA, Textile Art Museum Australia’s permanent collection.”
